Day 33

Today morning when I reached the office I found on each desk red rose with nice card” Good Morning” from the HR director. Really I like that and we all were happy because that motivated us to work and made a positive contribution to the team.

Ms. Asma gave some tasks to do in the Excel sheet. However, I couldn’t do them since I face a problem with the computer so I contact the IT department to fix it. I used Mr. Majid laptop to work. Furthermore, it’s the first time for me to type Arabic letters in Dubai Chamber because as I observed they use English in their letters and documents.

I attended the weekly meeting and during the meeting I asked them about the presentation time regarding my work experience and they decided it to be at 11: am. Moreover, they asked me to attend a useful training next Wednesday 8/4/2009 and the subject is “Sustainable Human Resources Management “. It’s for one day only.

After the meeting I worked on my presentation slides for tomorrow.

Today I was dissatisfied that I had nothing to do!! It’s the last week for me to work in Dubai Chamber and I want to perform tasks. I asked my colleagues to help them and they sent me some excel sheets to update. Moreover, after the housekeeping day we found many certificates and files needed to be scanned. I scanned them and I took a tour to distribute the employees’ certificates. I was glad that most of the employees know me and I realized that I can interact with the people easy maybe that’s why I am an HR student.

Today at approximately 9:20 am Ms. Asma called me to inform that she might be late because of the rain and bad traffic jam. However, she wanted me to receive the officer from one of the training companies and try to offer him drink until she arrives. I did what she requested. The time passed and she didn’t come. So I asked the manager to Mr. Majid to meet him instead of wasting more time.

I submitted the assignment regarding the best careers in the companies and the benefits, compensations and training development that they offer. In addition, the manager liked my work and asked me to search more companies that operate in UAE not just the international companies. I added Ritz Carlton Hotel, Shangri la Hotel, Shell international, BP, DIFC and DP world. By the end of the day I sent it again but at this time he said the excellent work no need to add more things. Moreover, ha was glad that I submitted the work before the deadline day. In addition, that increased my knowledge about the HR in different companies that each company has its own way to attract the talented people to work with them.

Mr. Majed assigned me a task to do which is to conduct a search about the top companies in the world to find how they treat their employees, their career developments, staff facilities, benefits, and promotion, or anything related to the HR. Actually, they want to make some changes in their organization that will benefits the employees.

I asked him about the deadline day to submit and he chose Monday, so I spent the whole day working on this assignment.

Today is the House keeping day... No tasks to do only cleaning:

Personal office
Filling room
All the drawers.

Actually it was very fun and we got benefits from this exercise since we focused on the working environment around us. For example, the employees were not satisfied with the filing system and they don’t have more spaces for the new files, so they got rid of all the old files for the previous year. Moreover, the director also participated in this day and the employees were happy for that and we took a lot of photos. In addition, we collected all the used papers in the recycling box and sent it to the responsible business department; it’s a sign that the employees in Dubai Chamber are aware of the importance of the recycling in the environment.

I went with Ms. Asma to two meetings regarding the scholarship programme. Moreover, we went to the meetings delayed because we trapped in the traffic jam.
I called one of the training companies” Dubai Quality Group” to ask them about the attending certificates for Dubai Chamber employees since they didn’t send them yet .

I didn’t have more tasks to do because I spent the day outside Dubai Chamber.

Day 27

Today is Thursday….All the employees are happy but when you ask them what are their planes for their weekend, their response is: Nothing or staying at home!!
Ms. Nadia asked me to conduct a search about the good places in Dubai to visit. So I created a word document about some ideas that I wanted to share for some activities that they can plan with their family and friends during their weekend. I think weekend is the time to chill out and take a break from work. Actually, they like the tips for the weekend the places that I choose for them.

I scanned some files and enter them in Jupiter.

I created an excel sheet regarding the employees mobile numbers to be easily to contact them when they are not in the work.

Day 26

Wednesday is the meeting day; I started my work by attending the weekly meeting. All the members agreed to choose next Monday for house keeping, that all the HR employees including the director will clean their personal office, filing room and all the HR drawers. In addition, during the meeting I mentioned that in Zawya website the ownership type of Dubai Chamber is government but in fact it is private and I found that the company updated was in Jan 2009. They liked my comment and asked me to send an email to the IT department to inform them.

Moreover, I collected all the certificates in the department for the resigned and retired employees in order to send them the certificates. I called them to take their P.O Box.

I took some photos of our offices in the HR and wrote some comments to announce that the HR team will be out of the service in Monday 25th March 2009 for the housekeeping and we don’t want the other staff to disturb us, only in urgent situation.

Today the department was very quiet maybe because four of the employees didn’t come to the work for different reasons. However, the rest worked effectively as everyday.
I started the work by calling some employees from the other branches to come to the head office to collect their medical insurances and varied documents. Almost I know all the employees in Dubai Chamber because working in the HR department leads you to communicate with all the employees. Furthermore, it offers you the opportunity to play an active role in your organization since the HR employee attract, employ, and rate talented individuals who will have an optimistic influence in the company.
More than that, I spent the whole day filing. I know that filing is a small task. However, I learn from it because while I am filing I read the papers and that increase my knowledge about the procedures of the company and understanding the terminologies of it.

Today I am ver energized and active, I came earlier at 8:30 am, maybe because I selpt early yeasterday , I started working immediately. Firstly, I complated the assigned task of the probation period since Ms. Asma collected all the names of the line managers in Dubai Chmaber, finally it’s done.

Ms . Asma looked very busy and I wanted to assist her in the works so I asked her to give me some of her tasks . I was assigned the task of updating the training providers that I created yesterday because she gave me more training files.

In addtion, I arranged some meetings for the next week regarding the scholarship. Actually, I improved my interpersonal communication skill since I am meeting new people everyday via email, telephone and face to face.

Day 23

Today Ms. Asma gave me another probation period file to enter in Excel sheet but this time the probation period is for three months the previous one that I created was for six months. However, I couldn’t finish this task because I have to write in the sheet all the line managers in each department and Ms. Asma wasn’t available since she had training. More than that, I asked the other employees in the HR but they have no idea about the line managers!! So I left the task in order to complete it tomorrow to ask Ms. Asma about the required information instead of wasting my time. Actually, 80% of the task is done.

Mr. Majed asked me to collect all the brushers, envelops, letters and printed emails for this year and prior years to create an Excel sheet containing all the information regarding the training providers such as company name, contact employee, telephone, fax ,email … etc. I didn’t use Excel sheet, it’s boring because all my works in Excel. in addition,I used Access as I have a good knowledge in all Microsoft Office, I gained this skill from the college. Mr. Majed liked my work and he asked me few questions about Access.

On Wednesday and Thursday I attended the induction programme for the new employees who joined Dubai Chamber recently. The purpose of this programme is to provide the employees with the information and instruction required to carry out their assigned works securely and without risks.

It was a great experience that I learnt how to establish an induction program since I am an HR student and that will help me in my future career. However, in my opinion it will be better if they talked about some issues. For instance, emergency procedures, evacuation routes, emergency communications and first aid, instead of presenting only the operations departments and their duties requirements. Another point is that the employees were complaining that they are receiving too many information in two days only so it is highly recommended to make the induction programme for one week since it is enough for th induction programme instead of two days only.

I spent the whole day working on the probation period excel sheet for the HR review, it’s like evaluation sheet. Besides, the employees rate their satisfaction and dissatisfaction on the subject of the work requirements, HR support, line manager and employees’ development needs.

Last week I sent an email for Ms. Asma regarding the meetings time and she was in her sickness leave so she didn’t check the email. Besides, I told her as well as Mr. Majed yesterday again about the time in order to keep them fully informed and they said it’s ok. However, today they discovered that they have another meeting at the same time in another place!! Really it was a problem, so they canceled one of the meetings. Mistakes happen all the time but we have to be careful. Additionally, I don’t know why they are not using their Outlook Calendar which can help them to manage their time and they will not miss another meetings.

Finally, I learned how to use a Fax.

Day 19

I went to the meeting regarding Alsek Maktoom scholarship in the Department of Economic Development at 9:00. The employee who was in charge from the Department of Economic Development didn’t know anything about the scholarship and we were shocked!! At least at would be better if she prepared herself for the meeting instead of saying that she is new employee and she is in the department since November. I think the first impression in the work is very important because it’s almost impossible ever to change it. Besides, my first impression of her was not good since she didn’t turn off her mobile and she spoke to someone on the phone that interrupted us. Moreover, she wasn’t on time on the meeting. In fact, it’s very important for me to know these things in order to avoid these mistakes in the future and make every first impression not just good but great.

In addition, I taught Ms. Sana how to use Jupiter system and enter the information inside it. Actually, she used my computer since she doesn’t have this software and scanner. Furthermore I was glad because she asked me to help her which increased my commitment to the HR team.

At the end of the day I was free and very bored because I didn’t do any practical work.

Wednesday is the meeting day, I like this day because I get involve in the meeting by exchanging information , discusing issues such as trianing cost and emiratization because recently they stoped employment due to the collapse in the economy. Besides, I like the way they participate ideas. It was good meeting because Mr. Majed the manager was good leader . He helped keep the discussion on track and tried to ensure that everyone is involved appropriately in the discussions.

I am glad today I didn’t scan any paper . However, I called the governmnt sectors again to arrange meetings. Moreover, today is better that yesterday because some of them picked up the phone. This task was very helpful because I gained experience in dealing with different government departments.

So if you ask me about my workplacement at Dubai Chamber I can say :
It’s fun.
I make a lot of friends .
I learned something .
People care about me and I I want to thank them for being so nice.

Today Tuesday!! as usual I scanned a lot of papares for the previous years. I think They are giving me tasks that are not demanding enough and not in line with my skills but it doesn’t mean that I am not learning . Besides, what I really need is to introduc me to the real-life tasks and requirements.

Ms. Asma aked me to arrange appointments with 23 government departmets regarding Al Shiekh Maktoom scholership that offered by Dubai chamber, and she wanted to have 3 meetings per day . so I checked her scedual as well as Mr. Majed since both of them will go to the meetings. Furthermore, I selected the days according to their timing show. One problem I faced that I don’t know the locations of these departmenst in order to estimate the time that they will need to reeach the location since it will be 3 meetings in one day and the traffic in dubai is always bad. To solve this problem I used the net to conduct a search about the location of each departmet as well the telephone numbers instead of bothering my collegues by asking them. In addition, before I start calling them I showed Mr. Mjaed the meetings days but he said it’s impossible to have 3 meetings per day so he asked me to change. Actually, I did what he want but I think it would be better if Ms. Asma and Mr. Majed sat together to confirm the meetings dates.

I called all the departments but I don’t know why they are not picking up the phones because I called them many times or when they receive the call again they transfer it to other person who is not responsible of the scolership. I arranged only one meeting with Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority and sent the time to Ms. Asma. I was disappointed and I informed Mr. Majed about this problem and he said” it’s OK do what you can and don’t worry”. The people I work with are very supportive. It's a huge boost to my confidence.

Day 16

Today morning when I arrived the work, I didn’t find the HR employees except the manager Mr. Majed. I asked him about the team and he told me that they have a meeting with the general manager and it’s not allowed for the managers and directors to attend this meeting because it’s a chance for the employees to express their feelings and opinions about the work. Besides, if they have any complains they can inform the general manager. At that time I felt that I am wasting my time because I don’t know what to do so I decided read my email.

In addition, I sat with Mr.Majed and he explained to me the UAE’s labor law .For example, the working hours, leaves, disciplinary rules and the penalties that the employer may impose on the workers like warning, fire and dismiss without prejudice to severance pay. Moreover, I was responsible to pick up all the calls in the department since they are not available. I wrote notes like who called them and why and I left them in their desk.

I guided 2 candidates to the waiting area and assisted them to fill in the recruitment forms. Actually, it was as opportunity to interact with people.

Moreover, I helped Ms. Asma in updating some of the training reports. Furthermore, I scanned some documents, it’s very boring.

Finally,I asked Ms. Asma if there are any tasks to do for tomorrow because she won’t come, she responded that she will send them by the email.

Day 15

Today I filed numerous papers and updated some of the employee’s records like their employment documents and personal information. Moreover, I didn’t know that these documents are confidential and I left them on my deck, them Ms. Asma notified me to put the confidential files in the drawer and she gave me the key.

In addition, I worked on the training reports for the year 2009 and submitted to Ms. Asma . She was glad because I finished earlier before the deadline and I told her it was a challenge for me that I want to prove my self in the team.

The rest of the day I was working on the Jupitar System by scanning a lot of pares to be entered in the system. Actually, they collected all the papers of the last week and waited me to come back and continue the scanning, as I mentioned before they actually hate this task. The time passed so quickly today because I was busy the whole day.

For tomorrow I scheduled a short meeting with my supervisor Ms. Asma to discuss my performance since I completed one month with them so I want her evaluation.

Day 14

In Thursday morning when I went to Membership and documentation services department I was surprised because they informed me that Ms Asma sent them an email asking them to allow me to return back to HR department since they have loads of works and many deadlines for the next week. Truly, I didn’t like the surprise because in this day I will be responsible to serve the customers and I was enthusiastic for this day. However, I went back to the HR department disappointed.


In fact, all my collogues were too busy. Furthermore, Ms Asma prepared some task. For instance, contacting the Career Fair c-coordinators to inform them that Dubai chamber wouldn’t contribute in the exhibition this year but they were not replying on any calls or e-mail due to internal issues. We had to wait for their reply so we can continue our job.

I attended the second weekly meeting in the HR department and all the members updated us with their responsible tasks. Besides, I talked about my experience in the other department where I worked. Now my self confidence increased that I can share them my ideas and opinions better than before in the meeting room.

In addition, I worked on the training report for the year 2006 and 2007 in order to enter them in Oracle system. I collected all the training courses names and I divide them according to their periods. Checking the IDs for all the recent and resigned employees caused a headache because I stayed in front of the computer for along time checking the numbers, and I already have difficulties with vision, maybe it’s another factor for the headache. However, that didn’t prevent me in continuing the task since the deadline will be on Sunday. I completed the work at the home and sent it to Ms. Asma and Mr. Majed at the same day. I was very happy because I felt t that I am benefiting them and contributing to the team efforts.

I had a load of works to do but I can meet deadlines effectively. More than that, I realized that I work well under pressure, this is my new skill and I applied it in my work place.

Today is the worst day!!! Because I am sick

I went to the work although I was sick because I didn’t want my super visor to mark me absent.

When I arrived everything was ready. For instance computer, phone and office supplies. Truly, I was glad. Furthermore, Mr. Dawood taught me how to use their statistic system which is called Q-win to find the transaction daily time and waiting daily time for the customers from the date 15-02-09 to 21-02-09. I like this software because it’s helped me in developing my analyzing skill. More than that, I applied what I have learn from the college because last year l studied a statistic course and that helped me in my task. After that I copied all the numbers from the software and enter them in excel with adding some calculations.

Day 12

I sat with Mr. Dawood (senior member services) at the beginning he repeated all the information that Mr. Samir provided me yesterday. Then I helped him in making certificates of region and he explained me the purpose of this certificate which is to enable the company to export and import the goods to the other countries. Actually, it’s like a passport that they can’t transfer their goods without it. I fell that if I stayed more weeks this department that will help me in growing and increasing my knowledge about the global business.

Currently Dubai Chamber is studying to increase all the fees of their services so I was watching what he was doing and assessing him in calculations like the expected revenue and expected increases. I was wondering why he is not using the excel sheet!! I think it’s easier than using the calculator!! But he said that it easy for those who know how to use excel but since I don’t know how to use it I think it’s difficult.

At the end of my work day at 2:00 pm I went to the director Mr. Mahdi and I asked him if there is any available computer for me to use in order to do some practical works instead of watching around only and he agreed to provide me with what I need. Besides, he was glad because I asked him that. Additionally, He felt that I really want to learn and work.

Before I return to the HR department according to the plan I want to deal with customers to improve my communication skills, I will suggest that to the manager.

Day 11

Today morning before I go to the new department I was very glad and excited because I will work in another department and I will learn other things that are completely different than HR.
I met with the director Mr. Mahdi he gave me some information about their department operations. Honestly, at the beginning I didn’t understand anything he was talking about membership, trade license, Free Zones….etc. and I realized that my general knowledge about these things is weak and I didn’t ask him many questions because he had a meeting so I didn’t want to bother him. However, he told me if I need any help I can contact him immediately, he was very kind and I noticed that his office door is open all the time for his employees.

The one thing that I didn’t like or made me not comfort is that I don’t have my own desk. I sat with Mr. Samer and he shared me his desk. Actually, he was the suitable person to sit with him because he is experienced that he worked in Dubai Chamber for 14 years. He explained all the operations in the department. In fact, he was very patient that he explained everything step by step.

In this department you will find daily operations include:
1.Issuing certificates of origin.
2.Registration of members
3.Certifying commercial documents.
4.Receiving business delegations
5.Serving business groups.

There is another service that they provide people which are information about the UAE, investment opportunities in Dubai and free zones, exhibitions, and other information about tourism, economy, trade and others. So the employees should be professionals and up date them self with latest news in order to serve the people better.

The information services include:
1. Publications of the Chamber.
2. General information on setting up businesses in Dubai.
3. Company profiles.
4. List of newly-registered companies.
5. List of companies by nationality.
6. List of companies by legal status.
7. List of companies by size.
8. List of companies by employees.
9. List of exhibitions in Dubai.
10. Commercial laws and companies’ regulations.
11. General information about Dubai

They didn’t give me today any task to do but I hope they will do that by tomorrow.

Day 10

In the morning I called one of the training companies as Ms. Asma requested to ask them about their currently courses that they are conducting. In addition, Ms.Asma liked one of their training since it designed for senior professionals who are in charge for making decisions & strategy across their business; we got the HR director’s approval. After that I used their website for the registration and I will be responsible to contact them again.

As everyday I continued scanning, photocopying and reading emails, it became a routine. Beside, Idiscovered that in the HR department they don’t have a list of all the staff names with their departments!! Which makes their tasks difficult, so I decided to create an excel sheet with all the employees names and their departments. I took all the names from the book addresses from the Outlook and I sent the document to my colleagues.

In addition, I helped Mr. Majed in the IDP programme (individual development plan). The purpose of this programme is to enable the HR department to book necessary trainings with training providers for all the employees in Dubai Chamber. We sent a document for all the staff in order to identify their weakness and strengths by completing the required information. And we will present a small session to explain the IDP programme for the employees who are unable to think of specific method or training to address their development area.

Day 9

I started my day by checking my email.
Then I went to the meeting room with my notes as Mrs. Maha told me to attend the HR department meeting. Before the meeting starts Ms. Azaa (the HR director) said: “Hamdah your are now part of the team not just a trainee so do your best”. I was happy to hear this comment from the director which really inspired me to work. In addition, during the meeting each member gave us their tasks updates, issues and their accomplishments. However, Ms. Asma and Mr. Majed didn’t attend the meeting since they had another meeting outside. During the meeting the director asked the attendees about the progress of Ms. Asma’s task they didn’t answer her because they don’t know where she has reached in her progress. To be honest I was shocked because they have to be a team knowing the status of each member in order to succeed. Prior to the end of the meeting Ms. Azaa asked me if I have any recommendations, I told her it would add a value to the team if each employee makes a use of the outlook calendar. Since it will allow more facilitation among employees allowing them to know the status and general schedule of their colleagues. Furthermore, she requested me to do a presentation in my last day of the work placement about my experience and learning.


Tasks that I done today are:

Filing.
Creating various Excel Sheets, which has enhanced my skills in it. Besides, I increased my knowledge about Microsoft Office Excel 2007.
Scanning. Today I had a huge load of folders to scan!! I started hating this task as the other employees in my department. In fact, I have to scan all the papers in order to enter in the HR system because the manager wants everything to be electronically. Truly, it is uninteresting task.
Calling to either delay or cancel Ms. Asma's meetings to 3:00 pm according to her phone conversation with me this morning. Since she was trapped in the traffic and had no clue of how long it may take.


The time went very quickly today because I was so busy the whole day without break. Giving me the feeling of self satisfaction since I contributed towards my team’s objectives.

I attended building evacuation awareness from 9 am to 12 pm. The purpose of this awareness is to help the employees to recognize potential risks while working in office. I gathered much useful information. For example, how to use the fire extinguisher, I knew all the fire exits in the building and the building evacuation procedures. They opened an email account for me to help me in my works. In my department there was a small birthday celebration for one of my colleague and I observed the strong relationship between them and they are satisfied with the management style of their manager which will lead them for a better performance.

In this day my supervisor Ms. Asma was absent and really it was boring because no works to do but I went to my colleague Ms. Fatima and I asked her to give me some of her task and I made a form for the gift declaration for the employees to use it when they receive gifts from the customer and they don’t take the gifts before the approval from the HR.Ms Fatima liked the form but she edited some points. Besides, I couldn’t scan the employee’s documents because there was an error in the scanner so I called the IT department to fix the problem

Day 3

I started my day by calling the students who didn’t pick up the phone yesterday and I finished this task. Besides, there were some interviews for the candidates and my supervisor asked me to attend the interviews. In fact. it was interesting since I contributed by asking some question, it was new experience for me but I think I need to work on that since I am HR student and I didn’t have any training or course about conducting an interview. Furthermore, I sat with Mrs. Rafea recruitment senior executive and she gave me an overview of her responsibility like making job analysis, job description and job advertisement. I already knew how to do these things before from the college.

Day 2

I started working in this day. They taught me how to use the HR system Jupiter and I scanned a lot of employee’s documents to be fixed in the system such as employment documents, leaves, excuses, salary certificate, performance and end of service.

Moreover, the manager asked me to arrange a meeting with the sponsored students. I selected the day referring to his timing show and I called the sponsored students. However some of them didn’t pick up the phone and some of them excused since they are working in the morning and the time wasn’t suitable for them and to solve this problem I suggested the manger to make the meeting for two days and he agreed.

Day 1

My first day of the work placement went well. I met my supervisor Ms. Asma and I received a thorough orientation to my responsibilities and the organization for which I will be working. She explained their rules. For instance, using the telephone only for the work no personal calls, office dress code, and confidentiality.

in addition.She provided me with the initial information and tools that I need such as computer, office supplies and phone. I meet all the staff in my department and they gave me a brief overview of their responsibilities. Actually, they all were friendly.

I went with my supervisor and her manager Mr. Majed to Rashed Hospital to attend a meeting their about scholarship provided by Dubai Chamber for the UAE nationals who work in the Government sectors. And as I observed it was informal meeting that it took a long time almost 1 hour because they talked about many things that are not related to the subject.

Day 8

I started my day by reading emails since Ms. Asma had training outside Dubai chamber and I had nothing to do. Actually, it was a slow day and I spent my time watching around. All of a sudden I saw a small argument between the employees from the HR department e and Finance department because of the meeting room!!!

In the floor where I am working on there are three departments and only one meeting room and as I noticed when they want to conduct a meeting they don’t book the room before which leads to some problems. I think it will be better if they plan to book before.

Besides, in my opinion there should be mini forum rooms to hold short meetings or discussion between 2-4 employees regarding projects this is also want to disturb the other collogues who are trying to focus on their work especially he/she is on critical time meeting the deadlines.
Furthermore, because everyone at the department hates the idea of scanning! They just took the advantage of me and stuffed me with the last 2 months files and asked me to scan! I got so frustrated, but of course to leave a good impression I had to accept after all they are going to assess and appraise me accordingly.

Day 7

I arrived to the office a little bit earlier today, and started to greet the fellow staff by morning greeting.

My Supervisor Ms. Asma had a meeting in another department with one of higher managers. In the same Department three other staff had training today and were attending it some other location. So I was alone in the office with two other staff Mrs. Sana (payroll & administration executive) and Mrs. Rafeaa (recruitment executive) who gave me some tasks of daily office work such as updating the employees’ records and filing a lot of papers.

Ms. Rafeaa gave me a good idea how to use Oracle Software which is one of the HR systems since she wanted me to work on it but suddenly she realized that the application is not installed on the pc which I’m working on so she just gave me some details about it in her machine and I didn’t get time to work on it because I don’t have the software. In addition. I asked Mrs. Sana to assist her in figures of salaries of this month or in the payroll system but she was very concerned about the numbers
and was afraid that I might make mistakes in figures which can be very bad for her and the department.

At the last hour of the working day, I talked with Ms. Asma , and we several a discussion about my plan. I suggested that we change the plan in a way that I spend each week of my work placement period in different departments in order to gain more experience and to get exposed to the other work environments of the each section.

Day 6

I started my day disappointed because when I arrived to the work I discovered that there is an error in the computer so I called one of the employees in the IT department to come and fix the error. However, he was too late so I didn’t get any tasks to do at that time. Moreover, I went with Mr. Majed (resourcing & development manager) around all the departments and employees and got brief information about their departments operation and as I noticed that all of them are busy all the time. By the end of the day I understood well the company’s operations and practices. In addition, they want me to contribute with them in the UAE Career Fair 2009 and they showed me their plan and the procedures for that. My supervisor Ms. Asma was very busy today because she had several meetings so I went to Ms. Fatima (employee relations executive) to help her and she gave me many employees’ documents to scan them but again the scanner wasn’t working!!! Again I felt frustration because I want to do the task and I know that the IT department is very busy and they would not come immediately. Besides my colleagues were very helpful and friendly since they tried to fix the problem and that made me feel more comfortable.

I met My mentor Mr. Tridib at 1:00 pm at my work placement and we discussed the work experience issues and the assessment. To be honest I like the college life more than the work placement…really I missed DWC.
